Its their best distraction tactic as they can’t deliver on development!

We are witnessing a strange phenomenon – the ‘fringe’ slowly occupying the central space. They are indulging in moral policing by depriving the citizens from their rights ensured by the constitution. They are not punished by the establishment, not even condemned but condoned!

On October 9, three right-wing activists Samhith Raj, Sandeep Poojary and Chittaranjan stopped a car near Moodbidri town in Mangaluru region and abused its driver and three women travelling with him. The vigilantes were up in arms because the car’s owner, a Muslim, and his wife were travelling with two Hindu women. The Hindu women were abused and assaulted by the vigilantes, she narrates “They abused us saying, are you the progeny of Muslims? Do Muslims belong to your caste? Why are you travelling with them? Can you not travel by bus? “We are members of an organisation and we will burn all of you.” She filed a complaint at Moodbidri police station. They were arrested but obtained bail on the same day and were escorted out of the police station by Umanath Kotian, the BJP MLA from Moodbidri. Strange as it may sound, the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai justified the incident by saying “Some youths need to ensure that the sentiments of their society are not hurt. This is a social issue and we need morality in society. We cannot live without morality,”

On September 28 in Belagavi, a group of 10 persons – including an activist of the Sri Rama Sene Hindustan murdered Arbaaz Mullah over his relationship with a Hindu girl.

On September 17 two Muslim vigilantes had beaten up a Hindu man for taking a Muslim woman colleague home after work.

In the same month, a Dailt family in Karnataka was fined Rs 25,000 after their two-year-old child entered a temple in the village.

In September, Congress spokesperson Lavanya Ballal was threatened by a caller associated with Sangh saying that they will physically assault her but no action has been taken!

On October 11, a shocking incident of communal intolerance took place in Bagalkote district, two Muslim students were assaulted for wearing skull caps. And strangely the police not only lodged the complaint of the victim but also registered the complaint of the perpetrators!

The question is, is the Right-wing Hindutva groups deliberately polarising the society to keep their vote bank intact, and emboldened by BJP Government at State & Centre?

The Prime Minister, though try to project an image of progressive India on foreign soil but has never condemned, rather encouraged indirectly the right-wing-fringe!
